Facilities Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation, maintenance and safety of building systems, including:
- HVAC systems
- Electrical systems
- Plumbing systems
- Generators
- Lifts
- Medical gas systems
- Water supply systems
- Biomedical equipment
- Monitor facility and equipment performance and ensure compliance with:
- Manufacturer requirements
- Safety requirements
- Environmental and statutory regulations
- Safety standards
- Infection control requirements
- Hospital accreditation requirements
- Maintain and monitor maintenance records, troubleshooting and repair records, calibration records, service reports and asset registers for hospital facilities and equipment.
- Investigate equipment failures and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Oversee the installation, commissioning and disposal of hospital facilities and equipment where applicable.
- Manage facility renovation, upgrading and expansion projects, including project planning, execution and contractor coordination.
- Manage service contracts, monitor vendor performance, handle warranty claims and coordinate with external service providers.
- Review supplier quotations and ensure that suppliers' pricing is fair and competitive.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in facilities management, engineering maintenance or hospital/healthcare facilities.
- Experience managing hospital facilities, building services and/or biomedical equipment will be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators, lifts, medical gas and water supply systems.
- Experience in facility maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements, safety standards, environmental regulations, infection control and healthcare accreditation requirements.
- Experience managing facility renovation, upgrading and expansion projects, including contractor management.
- Experience managing vendors, service contracts, warranties and external service providers.
- Strong understanding of maintenance records, calibration, asset management and equipment documentation.
- Good knowledge of CAPA / root cause analysis and equipment failure investigation.
- Strong negotiation and commercial skills, particularly in supplier quotation evaluation and cost management.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to lead Maintenance and Bio-Medical Engineering teams.
- Good communication, coordination, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
