Position: Head of Unit, Operations Support

Client : A well-established, public-listed company in Malaysia with a strong presence in auto financing and a stable, growing business.

Location: Klang, Selangor, Malaysia

Working hours: Mon-Fri, 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM (Flexible working hours). Early departure is permissible upon manager approval once daily tasks are completed

Salary: Negotiable up to RM11,000

 

About The Role
The Head of Unit, Operations Support (Manager, OP & DT Unit) is responsible for overseeing the accurate recording and reconciliation of collections, payment verification, banking-in activities and bank book updates. The role also manages and improves internal controls and risk management across the end-to-end payment collection process, escalates discrepancies and irregularities, and leads and develops the Operations Support team in alignment with the Company’s objectives, policies and compliance requirements.


Primary Duties / Responsibilities:

•Responsible for ensuring all collections are properly recorded and reconciled.
•Raise any identified discrepancies to the Collections team for investigation and resolution.
•Escalate any irregularities to the Division Head of HP Business & Operations.
•Manage, propose and improve the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management across the end-to-end payment collection process.
•Responsible for appointing outsource vendors for the Collections team to ensure banking-in of cash and cheques is handled safely and credited into the Company’s bank accounts.
•Ensure payments are verified to the right party, for the right intended purpose, accurately and in a timely manner.
•Ensure all banked-in collections and payments are accurately reflected in the bank book.
•Lead, manage, support and develop team members to help them reach their full potential and achieve their goals.
•Ensure all plans and initiatives are aligned with the Company’s overall business objectives.
•Comply with all relevant legislation and the Company’s standard operating policies, processes and practices.
•Develop, review and enhance departmental systems, infrastructure, policies and processes to support business and people strategies.
•Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor or required by the Company.


Requirements:

•Minimum Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or any relevant and equivalent qualification. Diploma holders with substantial and relevant experience may also be considered.
•Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations, collections, payment processing, reconciliation, banking operations, internal controls or related functions.
•Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, coach, support and develop team members to achieve business objectives.
•Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in transaction accuracy, reconciliation, payment verification and identifying discrepancies or irregularities.
•Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with different teams and stakeholders at various levels.
•Willing to work in Klang.
