NPI Procurement Executive

Job Responsibilities
-
Support end-to-end NPI procurement activities from product design and engineering builds through prototype, pilot production, and mass production launch.

Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Development, and Operations teams to ensure procurement activities are aligned with NPI project milestones.

Coordinate the transfer of new products from Australia to Malaysia, ensuring materials, components, tooling, jigs, and fixtures are available and production-ready.

Manage sourcing and purchasing activities for engineering builds, prototypes, pilot runs, and production requirements.

Conduct RFQ, supplier evaluation, qualification, onboarding, negotiation, and supplier selection activities.

Perform BOM analysis, cost analysis, cost roll reviews, compliance assessments, and supplier performance monitoring.

Identify, evaluate, and establish new suppliers across the APAC region while maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers.

Lead procurement activities for NPI, internal, and customer projects, including prototype requirements, sampling, and engineering changes/ECOs.

Work with project teams to ensure specifications, quality requirements, cost targets, and project timelines are achieved.

Identify and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks, including material shortages and supply continuity issues.

Drive cost savings and cost competitiveness through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, annual repricing, and Purchase Price Variance (PPV) opportunities.

Support manufacturing partners with material shortage resolution, material pull-ins, and supply risk mitigation to maintain production schedules.

Review weekly CTB reports and proactively identify critical material and supply constraints.

Maintain and update NPI procurement checklists, processes, procedures, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Support the development of procurement KPIs, measurement systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Monitor industry trends, attend relevant industry conferences and trade shows, and identify emerging technologies, suppliers, and sourcing opportunities.

Maintain compliance with company quality, health, safety, environmental, and sustainability requirements.

Participate in special projects and initiatives to improve procurement processes, systems, tools, and organizational effectiveness.

Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners across multiple locations and time zones, with domestic and international travel as required.
Job Requirements
-
Bachelor’s Degree or tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is highly preferred.

Relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or purchasing within manufacturing, engineering, electronics, or technology environments.

Demonstrated experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), product development, or product transfer activities.

Strong experience in supplier sourcing, qualification, evaluation, negotiation, and relationship management.

Experience managing engineering changes, ECOs, supplier onboarding, prototype builds, and procurement-related project activities.
-
Good understanding of BOM management, cost analysis, procurement processes, and supplier performance management.

Strong knowledge of quality, cost, delivery, and supply chain requirements within a manufacturing environment.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems and procurement-related systems.

Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional and regional teams.

Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced NPI environment.

Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify cost-saving and sourcing opportunities.

Willingness to work with suppliers and manufacturing partners across different locations and time zones.
