Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Purchasing
- Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, including sourcing, RFQ issuance, quotation evaluation, and Purchase Order (PO) generation.
- Procure direct and indirect materials required for manufacturing operations.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and supply agreements with suppliers.
- Ensure timely material availability to support production schedules and customer requirements.
- Monitor open purchase orders and expedite deliveries when necessary.
Supplier Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and overseas suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, cost, and service.
- Resolve supplier-related issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns, and documentation discrepancies.
- Identify and qualify alternative suppliers to mitigate supply chain risks.
Inventory & Material Control
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities.
- Work closely with Planning, Production, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to prevent material shortages and excess inventory.
- Support inventory control initiatives and stock accuracy improvement programs.
- Participate in inventory audits and stock count activities.
Cost Management & Reporting
- Support cost reduction and supplier consolidation initiatives.
- Analyze purchasing data and prepare procurement reports.
- Track market trends and material price fluctuations to support sourcing decisions.
- Ensure procurement activities align with budget and cost-saving objectives.
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier documentation, and purchasing reports.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Support ISO and customer audit requirements related to procurement processes.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Buyer, Purchasing Executive, Procurement Executive, or related role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in plastic injection molding, EMS, precision manufacturing, or automotive manufacturing industries is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and inventory control.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Infor, Epicor, or similar.
- Good negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Experience
- Local and overseas sourcing experience.
- Exposure to import/export documentation and logistics coordination.
- Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or related quality management systems.
