Position Title : Group Supply Chain Manager

Tenure: Permanent

Remuneration: RM10,000 – RM15,000

 

Responsibilities

1. Supplier & Strategic Relationship Management

  • Develop and manage long‑term, strategic relationships with key suppliers across all commodities (Electronics, Plastic Resin, Metal Ingots, Indirects).
  • Establish group-wide supplier segmentation, performance metrics, and continuous improvement plans.
  • Drive annual supplier business reviews and strategic partnership agreements.

2. Sourcing Strategy & Governance

  • Lead the creation of a Group Supplier Strategy to ensure competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability.
  • Ensure business units implement consistent sourcing frameworks, approved supplier lists (ASL), and best‑practice procurement processes.
  • Act as the governance authority to validate, challenge, and approve key supplier selections, renewals, and sourcing decisions.

3. Commodity Strategy, PPV & Cost Management

  • Develop and execute commodity strategies for key spend categories:
    • Plastic Resins 
    • Electronic Components (PCBA, semiconductors, connectors, passives)
    • Metal Ingots (aluminum,)
  • Monitor global commodity price fluctuations and create early-warning systems.
  • Guide Sales & Program teams on customer communication, price variance (PPV) risks, and mitigation actions.
  • Lead quarterly commodity outlook reviews and implement hedging/forward buy strategies where feasible.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and negotiate long-term price agreements to stabilize input costs.

4. Contracting & Negotiation Excellence

  • Own group-level supplier contracts, master supply agreements, and service-level agreements.
  • Standardize contract templates, terms & conditions, and negotiation packs across all sites.
  • Lead high-level negotiations for strategic suppliers to secure cost, quality, capacity, and innovation advantages.

 

 

5. Supply Risk Management & Dual Sourcing

  • Identify supply chain risks proactively (capacity, geopolitical, reliability, price instability).
  • Develop dual sourcing and multi‑region sourcing strategies to minimize dependency risks.
  • Ensure all critical parts, tools, and materials have robust continuity and contingency plans.
  • Support BUs in supplier audits, capability assessments, and approval processes.

6. Internal Governance & Conflict-of-Interest Controls

  • Serve as the gatekeeper for all supplier onboarding, escalation cases, and potential conflicts of interest.
  • Establish strong ethical procurement processes and compliance frameworks.
  • Conduct periodic audits of site purchasing activities to ensure compliance with group policies.

7. Collaboration & Cross‑Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with:
    • Sales & Program Teams: cost projection, PPV communication, customer negotiation support.
    • Operations & Engineering: supplier development, productivity, tooling strategies.
    • Finance: cost modeling, working capital optimization, cashflow impact assessments.
  • Train and develop site purchasing teams to elevate group-wide capabilities.

8. Special Expertise Areas (Role-Specific Requirements)

  • Deep knowledge in Resin Procurement, including market indexes (ICIS, Plastics Today), hedging mechanisms, and global resin dynamics.
  • Experience negotiating electronic components during constrained market cycles.
  • Familiarity with metals procurement, alloy specifications, and ingot price drivers.

 

Requirements :

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or professional certification (CSCP, CPSM, CPM) preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 10–15 years in supply chain or strategic sourcing in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience spanning injection molding, metal fabrication, and PCBA/electronics is highly advantageous.

    • Commodity strategy development
    • Cross‑border, multi-site sourcing governance
