Role Overview

CGI Malaysia is seeking an experienced IT Solution Analyst to bridge business needs and technology delivery for a client’s application landscape. You will gather and clarify requirements, translate them into functional and technical specifications, and partner with delivery teams to design, build, test and support high-quality solutions across the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

1) Requirements & Solution Definition

·       Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into functional and technical solutions.

·       Facilitate workshops with business and IT stakeholders to confirm scope, assumptions, dependencies and acceptance criteria.

·       Document end-to-end processes, user journeys, and data flows; identify gaps, risks and impacts across systems.

2) Specifications & Delivery Support

·       Prepare Functional Specification Documents (FSD) and Technical Specification Documents (TSD).

·       Collaborate with developers and architects to produce solution designs, interface specifications and data mappings.

·       Support project delivery activities including estimation inputs, planning, change requests and release readiness.

3) Testing, Training & Post-Go-Live Support

·       Support FUT, SIT, and UAT testing activities (test planning, test cases, defect triage and retest coordination).

·       Conduct user training and provide post-implementation support to ensure smooth adoption.

·       Participate in incidents, service requests and problem management; perform root cause analysis and drive preventive actions.

4) Continuous Improvement

·       Promote documentation standards, traceability and governance across requirements, changes and releases.

·       Identify opportunities to improve processes, usability and performance; support automation of repeatable analysis/reporting where applicable.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

·       Higher Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent.

·       Minimum 5 years of experience in IT application development, implementation, and support.

·       Minimum 5 years of experience as a System/Solution Analyst.

·       Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management and communication skills.

·       Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.

·       Good spoken and written English.

Preferred

·       Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery with tools such as JIRA/Confluence (or equivalent).

·       Exposure to API integrations (REST/SOAP), data integration patterns, and basic security considerations (roles, access, logging).

·       Hands-on understanding of application support operations (ITIL practices: incident/change/release).

Strong Advantage

·       Knowledge of C#.NET, Java, Mendix, and/or PL/SQL.

·       Experience producing clear, audit-ready documentation and leading cross-team alignment for complex changes.

·       Domain exposure to manufacturing/industrial environments and systems is a plus.

Travel & Work Style

·       Based primarily in Kuala Lumpur with on-site presence as required by the client and project needs.

·       May require occasional after-hours / weekend support for planned changes, maintenance windows, or critical incidents.

·       Comfortable working with global stakeholders across time zones and cultures.
