Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager / Lead with 10+ years of proven success in driving consistent growth (typically 8–12% YoY). The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with hands-on execution, leveraging strong networks in Malaysia to grow our presence locally and scale opportunities in Singapore. Prior experience in IT and business consulting (e.g., CGI or similar) and a solid understanding of consultative solution selling, client relationship management, and industry-specific services are essential.
Key Responsibilities
1) Market Growth Strategy (Malaysia Primary | Singapore Secondary)

Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with CGI’s regional goals.

Build structured market plans including segmentation, target accounts, value propositions, and route-to-market approaches.

Translate market trends into actionable growth plays, such as managed services, application modernization, cloud, data/AI, cybersecurity, and enterprise transformation.
2) New Client Acquisition & Account Expansion

Identify, qualify, and secure new clients across priority industries, focusing on IT services and consulting.

Expand existing relationships by identifying whitespace opportunities and positioning CGI as a trusted advisor.

Lead end-to-end pursuits from discovery to proposal, negotiation, and closure.
3) Executive Relationship Management

Build and maintain trusted relationships with C-level executives, business sponsors, and key stakeholders in Malaysia and Singapore.

Establish CGI’s credibility through outcome-based discussions, business cases, and value articulation.
4) Nearshore Value Proposition & Cross-Border Collaboration

Position Malaysia-based delivery capabilities for local clients and support nearshore models for Singapore opportunities.

Collaborate with regional leaders, solution owners, and delivery teams to shape proposals, define resourcing, and ensure client success.
5) Commercial Leadership & Deal Shaping

Lead pricing, contract negotiations, and risk management.

Drive proposal development (RFI/RFP), ensuring executive-level storytelling and consulting professionalism.

Structure complex multi-year deals with focus on sustainable margins and account growth.
6) Pipeline Discipline, Forecasting & Reporting

Maintain a robust pipeline with clear qualification, next steps, and conversion plans.

Ensure accurate forecasting and reporting using CRM and KPIs (pipeline coverage, win rate, cycle time, ARR/TCV).

Build cross-functional relationships to leverage global capabilities.
7) Thought Leadership & Market Presence
Qualifications & Experience
Required:

10+ years in business development, sales, or client relationship management in IT services, technology consulting, or management consulting.

Proven track record of 8–12% annual growth through new client wins or account expansion.

Experience in a consulting firm environment with expertise in solution selling, account planning, and pursuit governance.

Strong professional network and access to decision-makers in Malaysia.

Ability to engage and influence C-level executives and orchestrate internal teams.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills.

Strong proposal writing capability and commercial acumen.

Preferred / Strong Advantage:

Existing network or experience selling to Singapore clients (enterprise/regulated sectors).

Industry exposure in Oil & Gas, Utilities, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Communications, Retail, or Financial Services (Malaysia/Singapore).

Experience selling complex engagements such as managed services, multi-year transformation programs, or platform modernization.
