Responsibilities
· Carry out inspection, operation, and maintenance of all electrical installations and equipment (motors, switchgear, control panels, lighting systems, etc.) within the licensed voltage limit.
· Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on electrical systems to minimize downtime.
· Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults and ensure all repairs meet statutory safety standards.
· Ensure all electrical installations comply with Energy Commission (ST) requirements and company safety procedures.
· Operate and maintain main switchboards, distribution boards, and protection systems.
· Perform testing and calibration of protective devices, insulation resistance, and earth continuity.
· Monitor and record power consumption and report abnormalities or irregularities.
· Ensure compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and other electrical safety practices.
· Assist in planning and execution of shutdown maintenance activities and new equipment installation.
· Maintain proper documentation, logbooks, and inspection reports for ST compliance and audits.
· Coordinate with contractors and utility providers for any electrical-related works or upgrades.
· Participate in emergency response and safety drills related to electrical hazards.
Requirement
· Possess a valid A4 Chargeman Certificate of Competency issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission Malaysia).
· At least 2–3 years of working experience in maintenance or facility management in an industrial environment (preferably semiconductor, manufacturing, or similar).
· Strong knowledge of low voltage electrical systems, wiring regulations, and electrical safety standards (MS IEC standards).
· Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single line diagrams, and equipment manuals.
· Competent in using electrical test instruments (multimeter, insulation resistance tester, earth tester, etc.).
· Good problem-solving skills and ability to respond effectively to equipment failures.
· Physically fit and willing to work in shifts, including standby or emergency call-outs.
· Good teamwork, communication, and record-keeping skills.
