| Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Development
• Build and mentor a high-performing regional team of design and manufacturing engineers.
• Establish overseeing projects in CAD, materials, testing, and customer-focused problem solving.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.
• Serve as the regional technical single point of contact for design and manufacturing engineering for Asia engineers.
• Approve and guide complex industrial packaging designs, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, quality standards, sustainability goals, and manufacturability.
• Drive the application of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles in all projects.
• Lead high-impact regional engineering projects, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives are met.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for engineering effectiveness, turnaround times, and customer satisfaction. Process & Cross-Functional Partnership • Implement and sustain standardized design-to-manufacture processes, tools, and KPIs across Asia facilities.
• Oversee BOM accuracy, engineering documentation, and change management.
• Act as a technical partner to the Regional Manager and sales teams, supporting bids, presentations, and customer solutioning.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Procurement, and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure seamless handoff from design to production.
• Support sourcing and supplier qualification related to packaging materials and fabrication.
Job Requirement
Education/Knowledge/Skills/Experience Desired:
• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging/ Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Industrial engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Packaging/ Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Industrial engineering or related field, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in CAD software, SolidWorks preferred.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of GD&T standards e.g., ASME Y14.5. for drafting and detailing engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of industrial packaging, packaging design, distribution packaging, package testing/qualification, and resolving packaging related issues.
• Knowledge of common standards from ASTM, ISO, MIL, FEFCO and ISTA related to packaging design, construction and testing, and material handling for small and large equipment.
• Strong technical understanding of protective packaging materials, cushion design, distribution environment, failure mechanisms, analytical techniques, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of clean room acceptable packaging materials is a plus.
• Ability to measure accurately using variety of measuring equipment like Tape measurer, calipers, and scales to record design requirements for customer parts.
• Proven record of developing engineering teams.
• Experience with CNC programming and ArtiosCAD is a plus.
• Robust leadership and project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource management.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving ability, with a focus on driving results and achieving project objectives.
