Key Responsibilities:
- Process Control & Optimization
- Lead day-to-day operations of surface finishing processes such as electroplating, anodizing, and chemical treatments.
- Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and chemical usage efficiency.
- Troubleshooting & Decision-Making
- Must possess strong troubleshooting skills to identify root causes of process issues (e.g., plating defects, chemical imbalance, equipment failure).
- Make fast and effective decisions independently to minimize downtime and scrap.
- Act as the key decision-maker during urgent or abnormal situations on the production floor.
- Technical Leadership
- Supervise and mentor a team of process engineers and technicians.
- Provide hands-on guidance and training on SOPs, chemical safety, and machine operation.
- Review and approve process changes, parameter adjustments, and new methods.
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements.
- Work closely with QA team to manage non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Project & Process Improvement
- Lead cost-saving projects, chemical reduction plans, and equipment upgrades.
- Evaluate and test new surface finishing technologies and chemicals.
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Monitor and analyze key KPIs (e.g., rejection rate, process downtime, chemical concentration trends).
- Submit reports with recommended actions for process improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in metal surface finishing (MUST).
- Strong and proven troubleshooting skills (MUST).
- Confident and capable of making independent technical decisions (MUST).
- Hands-on knowledge of plating line operation, chemical control, and SPC tools.
- Good leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
