Technical Skills Required:
Databases: Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB (Good to have - Sybase)
Scripting & Query Languages: Unix Shell Scripting, SQL
Operating Systems: Unix/Linux      
Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain database build and post-build processes for Oracle, MySQL, and MariaDB.
Work on database performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
Automate post-build deployment processes and database configurations using Unix shell scripting.
Ensure database consistency, replication, and backup strategies are in place.
Implement and maintain best practices for database security, compliance, and performance monitoring.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related performance issues and application bottlenecks.
Collaborate with application development and infrastructure teams to support seamless integration.
Handle schema migrations, version control, and data patching for production and non-production environments.
Monitor and fine-tune SQL queries to improve efficiency and reduce resource consumption.
Assist in the migration and upgrade of databases, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
Provide L3-level database support and troubleshooting for complex issues.
Document database configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and standard operating processes.
Stay updated with industry best practices for database administration, optimization, and automation.
Work closely with DevOps teams to integrate database operations into CI/CD pipelines.
Ensure adherence to ITIL-based incident, change, and problem management processes.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
8+ years of experience in database development, post-build automation, and performance tuning.
Strong expertise in Oracle, MySQL, and MariaDB (Sybase experience is a plus).
Proficiency in Unix shell scripting and SQL query optimization.
Hands-on experience in database backup, recovery, replication, and security best practices.
Ability to troubleshoot database performance issues and optimize query execution.
Experience in handling L3-level production database support and incident resolution.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and database automation tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across multiple teams.
Preferred Certifications (Optional but a Plus):
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
MySQL Database Administrator Certification
ITIL Foundation Certification
