Responsibilities

Leadership and Collaboration
- Act as a Design HSE Engineer, taking on a lead or senior role when required.
- Coordinate with third-party consultants and clients to oversee Design HSE Studies, Loss Prevention Studies, and Fire Protection Engineering Design.
- Review deliverables for quality and ensure timely project execution.

HSE and Safety Studies
- Conduct and oversee various Design HSE Studies, including but not limited to:
- HAZID (Hazard Identification)
- HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study)
- IPF (Instrumented Protective Function)
- QRA (Quantitative Risk Assessment)
- Fire Safety Analysis Reports (FSAR)
- Gas Dispersion Studies, Human Factor Engineering, and F&G Mapping.

Documentation and Deliverables
- Develop and manage essential project documents, such as:
- Design HSE Plans and Schedules.
- Fire Protection System Design Basis, Hydraulic Calculations, and Fire Detection Layouts.
- Cause-and-Effect Diagrams for fire and gas detection.
- Prepare reports and close-out documents in compliance with client and ITB (Invitation to Bid) requirements.

Fire Safety Design and Compliance
- Prepare Fire Safety Design Philosophy and relevant documentation.
- Handle BOMBA submissions, approvals, and site testing (e.g., FSDP and functional inspections).
- Support installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities related to fire safety systems.

Proposal Support
- Contribute to technical write-ups for proposals, ensuring comprehensive and compelling content.
- Provide cost and man-hour estimations for proposals.

Cross-functional Support
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of HSE elements with other engineering disciplines (e.g., Chemical, Instrument, Electrical, Mechanical, Piping Design, and Civil).
Requirements

Educational Background
- Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Additional qualifications in Fire Safety Engineering are advantageous.

Experience
- Over 6 years of engineering design experience in HSE studies for onshore petrochemical plants, oil & gas refineries, and/or offshore facilities.
- Hands-on experience with Fire Protection System and Fire & Gas Detection System Engineering Design is a plus.

Technical Skills
- Familiarity with specialized software like:
- Sound Plan, DNV PHAST/Safeti, and Pipenet (added advantage).
- Competent in AutoCAD for design-related tasks.

Soft Skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in report writing and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Additional Qualifications and Traits
- Willingness to travel for commissioning and BOMBA inspections.
- Positive working attitude with a readiness to gain cross-disciplinary knowledge.
- Proficiency in standard office software such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
