Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Define and execute the Wood Strategic plan for the Manufacturing Unit. This includes but not limited to o Zero Harm Safety Culture o Quality improvement to enhance customer delight o Support Capacity growth plans & Site expansion o Cost saving ideas & projects
•Lead and Manage the Manufacturing Unit’s Operations team o Maintain and stimulate safety and housekeeping awareness of staff through training, motivation, discipline and celebration. o Monitor the daily/weekly aspects of the production lines performance through KPI setting and follow up on Safety, Quality, Productivity, Service and Cost. o Continuous follow-up and communication with other production - and supporting departments: quality, engineering and maintenance. o Create the right structure and systems to deliver excellence. Finds ways to work more efficient and make the best of the teams available time. o Monitor and lead changes, sponsor action plans and initiate capex. o Ensure shop floor resource planning is adequate in correlation with production workload versus planning. o Oversees the analysis and review of budgets, schedules, production requirements and headcount to determine the most cost effective and efficient methods of obtaining the goal. o Ensure the department’s procedure and working instruction are up to date and compliance with ISO 9001 requirement. o Consistently assess and recommend the best method for process improvement.
Job Requirements : a)Education & Experience •Bachelor Degree in relevant field. Wood Technology degree is preferable. •A minimum of 5 years’ production-related experience in managerial role.
b)Behavioral Skills •Adaptable, safety-conscious. •Good communication and leadership skills including coaching, motivating and right people management approach. •Good resource management skills. •Good problem-solving and decision-making skills. •Effective crisis management skills.
c)Technical Skills •Wood and timber products knowledge is an added advantage. •Knowledgeable in department budgeting processes. •Knowledgeable in Malaysian employment related act. •IT savvy (Microsoft Office application) and report-writing skills. •Knowledgeable in PowerBi is an added advantage.
d)Physical Requirements •Physically and mentally fit.
